Change your relationship with alcohol,
change your life.
Personal coaching, connection, and community for people ready to live free from alcohol’s control.

About Sober Life
Sober Life was founded by Kaela Banthorpe, a qualified Life Coach on her own sober journey. After removing alcohol from her life, Kaela experienced the clarity, balance, and confidence she had been searching for — and now helps others do the same.

Our Mission
Our mission is simple — to help people change their relationship with alcohol and create lives they love.
Sobriety isn’t about losing something; it’s about gaining peace, energy, connection, and self-respect.
Whether you’re sober-curious, newly sober, or years into your journey, Sober Life offers a compassionate, non-judgemental space to learn, grow, and connect.
How I Can Help
I am a qualified Life Coach with real lived experience of becoming alcohol free myself.
I know how heavy the cycle can feel and how freeing change can be.
I offer steady support, clear tools and a calm place to talk.
We look at what is holding you back, what you want for your life, and how to build healthier habits that last.
I offer support in person in Durham, by telephone or online.
You can choose what suits you best.

Talking with Kaela helped me understand my relationship with alcohol in a way I had not managed on my own. She listened closely and picked up on themes I had mentioned without realising their weight. It felt steady and safe to open up, and the links she made between my thoughts, habits and past experiences made a lot of sense.
The sessions helped me gain clarity in areas of my life that had felt tangled for a long time. Breaking things down with Kaela made my goals feel lighter and far less overwhelming. I left each session with a clear next step instead of a full head.

Personal Acknowledgements
A huge thank you to all the people in my life who have embraced the sober me and supported me with encouragement and accountability.
I am immensely grateful to:
My Mum, for gently challenging, never judging and always being there.
My daughters, who love my new found presence, balance, energy and focus.
Dave, my Step-Dad (who sadly never got to see me reach my one year soberversary).
He was my confidante, guide and source of wisdom. With 40 years sober himself, he just got me and was super proud of my achievements. Dave will always inspire the work I do to support others in sobriety. I miss him very much.
My close friends, who celebrate my achievements and continue to be my biggest cheerleaders.
